There are no hands on our vacation clock. We ate lunch after the big shopping trip to PRADA and Gucci. K2 were home, they noshed on some snacks and we decided it was too stressful to continue to plan another destination for the day. We had thought Siena or San Gimignano but we had such a filled morning it made more sense to be still. It worked well. Extended riposo by the pool and in the pool (68 degrees all week) gave us the peace we needed after spending time in the thrill of the hunt. We thought local fare pizza or some such thing and it made sense to patornize the local ‘bar’ Casa al Chianti next door (a.k.a. Dudda bar). We readied ourselves, sat more (riposo lasted about six hours today) and then moved along to our watering hole for the evening. Let me note that eating establishments do not open before 7:30 (the early birds) for dinner.
Thinking pizza, we inquired. Very quickly shot down by a well spoken commander in chief of the cozy cucina (local foodies refer to eating places as ‘kitchens’ or ‘cucinas’. He told us fresh pasta, no pizza! Oh well, it’s dinner time and its more effort than we are willing to expend to drive anywhere.
Dinner was a bomb – food not inspired and it was over crowded in the cucina, but we had leftover goodies and our own quality moka now in unlimited supply at the villa. Winding down for the day and looking forward to the birthday celebration.
